What we do

Together with industry leaders, we have created a rigorous and credible curriculum design to help our young men not only uncover interests and hone talent but also re-engaged with learning, gain practical qualifications, and begin to develop meaningful careers before release.

Our courses are embedded in the pre existing prison education offer and open to all young men in prison with a particular focus on the men from Black and Ethnic Minority backgrounds.

We have partnered with HMP YOI ISIS to deliver our bespoke programmes, co designed and tailored to meet the needs of the young men there.

Our Challenge

It's time
For a
New Story

Young adults make up one third of prison sentences in the UK. Of that number over half will be reconvicted within one year of release. And three quarters within two. It’s always the same old story. We want to write a new one.

The numbers

Black or ethnic minority men and women are:

50%

more likely to be unemployed.

9X

More likely to be in prison than their white peers.

18x

More likely than white people to be stopped and searched under section 60 (no suspicion required).

We want to break this cycle by empowering young men in prison to own the next chapter of their lives and shape a brighter future for all.

Our Solution

Create Change
By Creating
Choices

Through an engaging long-term training programme, we work with young men in prison to gain the technical and soft skills they need to make their way in the world.

Our solution

Amplify
diverse voices
& stories

We need diverse perspectives and different stories to create a society which benefits the many. Not the few. While our immediate mission is to create new opportunities for young adult offenders, our long-term goal is to amplify diverse voices within society by contributing distinct talent to the UK creative industries.

I am...

A Creative organisation.

Wanting to teach the next generation.

Things you
can do
  • Teach

To deliver our programme we require the support of our creative industry partners. Some of our partners have gone as far to create bespoke programmes that have fit the young men we serve and the logistics of our partner prison, HMP YOI ISIS. If your organisation has any ideas on programmes that could be delivered in prison, please get in touch

  • Hire

We are also looking for organisations who can offer post release support and opportunities to the young men we serve. If this is something you can provide, please let us know

  • Frequently
    Asked Questions

    What’s involved?

We ask that our creative partners attend the prison for initial conversations, developing and planning and then commit to delivering in the prison weekly over a stated period of time.

    What impact will we have?

We believe that our programmes will leave a lasting impact on the young men we work with.

The majority of the young men we work with, may not have had the opportunity to engage in the projects and programmes we offer. Your involvement gives them the chance to experience something new, teaching them more about themselves and giving them the chance to make a change in their lives.

    Who else is involved?

To name a few of our partners: Brit School, The Young Vic: Taking Part, Notting Hill Academy of Music. Please visit our homepage to see the full list.

    Asked Questions

    How can I get involved?

We have had a lot of interest from people who would like to work with us on a voluntary basis. There are some ways volunteers can support for example, we have had volunteers delivering one of sessions with the young men, Please get in touch to discuss.

Do I need to be DBS checked?

All our long term staff, partners and volunteers are required to undertake a national security vetting process. One off delivery may not necessarily require this, but this is assessed on a case by case basis.
